Wrapping Up 2024

As we close out the year, we’re stopping to reflect and take a look at the impact we had in 2024.

Project:Camp popped up eight camps across five states, providing 17,271 hours of free, trauma-informed childcare for 830 kids and their families in the immediate wake of disasters. Through these programs, 145 volunteers were able to pour 2,375 hours into their communities to ensure that neighbors had a safe place to send their kids and begin to get back on their feet.

As always, the numbers only tell part of the story. There are also the stories of children who’ve lost homes, animals, and family members during disasters who’ve been given a place to process a camp. There are the stories of parents who are trying to find where the next meal comes from and where they’re staying at night who have a safe place to send their kids while figuring it out. There are the stories of communities ripped apart by storms or wildfire who find a rallying point around providing stability and routine for kids in crisis.

See the difference Project:Camp makes for children impacted by disasters

These are the stories we hear and see at Project:Camp. As we enter the final days of 2024, we’re asking you to support these children, these families, and these communities by making a tax-deductible donation to help us meet our year-end fundraising goal. We can’t do it without your support.

With gratitude,
Ozzie & Mikey

  • We want to give a huge shoutout to our legendary Seasonal Director Mark “Newt” Andreoni. He helped steer us through our busiest camps season yet, all while in the midst of planning a wedding and literally getting married. Massive shoutout to his wife Emma “The Pollock Queen Herself” Scalisi for allowing us to steal him so regularly – you’re the real MVP.

  • Superstar Camps Manager Madeline McClelland completed her training to be an accreditation visitor for the American Camp Association. As part of the program, Madeline will travel to different camps to make sure they meet the standards to be a member of the ACA.
