We help communities plan ahead so kids aren’t left behind

We eliminate the “what do we do?” moment when disaster strikes. We help communities care for children and families by bringing key organizations and stakeholders together in advance to ensure kids are included in disaster response plans.

Our Process

Our 3-step community preparation process ensures that kids and families are included in local disaster response by bringing the right players to the table and creating a plan before an emergency happens.

Step 1

Bringing the right people together. We work to identify and gather organizations in your community that can provide the four elements necessary to run a successful pop-up camp: a site, volunteers, relationships with families, and introductions to organizations that can help fund a pop-up camp in your community.

Step 2

Creating a plan. Once these organizations are working together, Project:Camp will help form a plan for children in emergency situations. Whether we come in to pop-up camp, or your community wants to pop up their own childcare station, an actionable plan can speed up response times, and help break up the formation of trauma.

Step 3

Training volunteers. Project:Camp will vet, background check and train a pool of volunteers in your community. A ready pool of volunteers already trained in trauma-informed childcare is a crucial tool in helping families and communities recover quickly.

We work in advance to source our three essential resources for running camps: a host site, local volunteer counselors, and the trust and awareness of impacted families.
