What a Year!

Wow – what a year! There were a number of significant natural disasters across the nation, including the devastating Maui wildfires that tore through the town of Lahaina. Project:Camp spent nearly a month on the island, partnering with local organizations like the Maui Family YMCA, the Hawaii Department of Education, and Kama’aina Kids to help care and support children and families impacted by the disaster.

While that was certainly the response that received the most attention, it was far from the only thing we accomplished this year. With the support from our incredible donors, Project:Camp was able to:

  • Partner with the Bird School Project to support children and families in Pajaro, CA, which experienced massive floods in the Spring

  • Expand our community preparedness work across California, Florida, and Oregon, introducing the importance of trauma-informed care for children impacted by natural disasters

  • Expand our capacity by onboarding new colleagues and board members

These are just a few of our accomplishments in 2023. If you'd like to help us support children, families, and communities across the country, consider making a donation to Project:Camp. Gifts made before December 31 will qualify for a match from our generous friends at the California Fire Foundation!

Thank you for all you do in support of Project:Camp,

Mikey
